The gouffre of Koboué
Ennedì is one of those mythical names that enters your head and fills your dreams and it had been a long wait for its greatness to be rediscovered. Our Saharan exploration will cross the lesser known areas of the Ennedì to reach the gouffre of Koboué. Professor H. Gillet climbed down this canyon on 25 September 1958, without discovering it in its entirety.
A great expert in flora (he would go on to publish "Le peuplement végétal du massif de l'Ennedì"- The plant population of the Ennedì Massif) totally fell in love with this place.
On our expedition, after the descent, we will dedicate three days to exploring it in full and independently. Moving on to the Guelta de Maya is an equally intense experience: almost circular with a diameter of 25m (it appears to be very deep), it is an ocean of life in this mineral environment. Of course, the gorges and guelta of Archeï will also be part of our itinerary, given that they will be the point of departure for our camel trek.
The depression and dunes of Mourdi will be our final step before setting off for N’Djamena.
